• The metal-reinforced internal spiral is protected by a polymer sheath made of PA 12 (polyamide 12). This material is exceedingly resistant to salt water as well as other media. This material is used successfully as a protective coating for offshore pipelines of oil platforms as well as for petrol pipelines.
• The end pieces of the new bowden cables are finished with a zinc/nickel coating, so that rust simply cannot gain a foothold. 
• The transition from the jacketed steel wire to the cable is provided with a tight fitting elastomer grommet. This effectively prevents the ingress of of water, salt and other aggressive, harmful liquids.
• The steel cable jacketed in PA 12 itself runs within another cable made from PVC. This means plastic runs on plastic, thereby allowing the sliding properties to be optimised as well. In simple terms: efficiency is boosted by up to 5% across the entire temperature range.
