    Sale of Bowden Cable Division on 31 December 2016 to General Aerospace

    On 20 December 2016, DexKo Global, through its AL-KO Vehicle Technology business, sold the Bowden Cable Division of AL-KO Vehicle Technology based in Zellberg im Zillertal and the plant in Sura Mica (Romania) to General Aerospace GmbH based in Eschbach in Baden-Württemberg (Germany), a leading supplier of high tech aerospace components, in full and with an effective date of 1 January 2017. This was another step for DexKo Global, a global leader in highly engineered trailer running gear and chassis assemblies and related components, to continue its strategic focus on its core business.

    DexKo Global Inc., global leader in highly engineered trailer running gear and chassis assemblies and related components, has expanded its Australian operations, announcing the acquisition of Melbourne Trailer and Caravan Supplies (MTCS). MTCS is an Australian family-owned business and supplier of caravan and trailer axles, leaf springs and other trailer components, serving multiple market segments across Australia since 1968. It has also been the Australian distributor for the Dexter Axle product range for over 30 years.

    For commercial vehicles and commercial trailers, wheel chocks aren't just an important tool to keep the trailer from rolling away. For heavier vehicles, they are mandatory. For this, AL-KO Vehicle Technology combines aesthetics with practicality – useful and pleasing to the eye. This is because the new, innovative UK 36 KL wheel chock, for example, is more than just safety equipment. The ingenious, ergonomic design of the wheel chock fits snugly in your hand due to its integrated grip, making it easier and safer to use than regular wheel chocks.

    AL-KO ball couplings AK 161 and AK 270 mark a jump in innovation and a generation change

    The best ergonomics and functionality as well as innovation for more safety are combined in the new generation of AL-KO towbars for braked trailers up to 2,700 kilograms. The newly developed AK 161 and AK 270 couplings are now available for retrofitting and/or replacement. Starting in July 2016, we will begin delivering these to trailer manufacturers already mounted couplings to the overrun device.

AL-KO KOBER SE ceded the Vehicle Technology business unit to DexKo Global Inc. In return AL-KO KOBER SE received significant shares in the company in addition to the main shareholder The Sterling Group.
